Privacy Policy

Effective: November 2020

Thanks for visiting my website. My mission is to keep visitors “in the know” about what I’m up to and to give the latest info and updates on cool books, movies, TV shows, and other media that may be of interest to them, mostly in the form of emails that detail the “3 Things I Love.” Here, I describe how I collect, use, and handle your personal information when you use my website.

What & Why

Account information. I collect and use the account information—first name, last name, email address—you provide to me when you sign up for my newsletter.

Usage information. I collect information related to how you use my newsletter, including actions you take in your account (like clicking links and forwarding). I use this information to improve my services and provide readers with more of the information they want.

Device information. I also collect information from and about the devices you use to access my newsletters. This includes things like IP addresses, the type of browser and device you use, the web page you visited before coming to my site, and identifiers associated with your devices.

Marketing. I never share information or sell it to advertisers or other third parties. I use a third-party service provider, MailerLite, to help me disseminate my email newsletters. This third party will access your information only to perform tasks on my behalf in compliance with this Privacy Policy, and I’ll remain responsible for their handling of your information per my instructions.

Law & Order and the Public Interest. I may disclose your information to third parties if I determine that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to: (a) comply with any applicable law, regulation, legal process, or appropriate government request; (b) protect any person from death or serious bodily injury; (c) prevent fraud or abuse of my users; (d) protect my rights, property, safety, or interest; or (e) perform a task carried out in the public interest.

Stewardship of your data is critical to me and a responsibility that I embrace. I believe that your data should receive the same legal protections regardless of whether it’s stored on my services or on your home computer’s hard drive. Therefore, I will continue to be transparent, protect all users, and provide trusted services.

I may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time, and will post the most current version on my website. If a revision meaningfully reduces your rights, I will notify you.
